FIELD: metrology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology, in particular to methods for measuring amplitude. According to the method, sampling noise of the used recorder is selected; performing preliminary calibration of the recorder at the price of the least quantization bit; obtaining the squared intrinsic noise of the recorder in the selected frequency range; amplitude measurement time is selected; frequency value and uncertainty on which amplitude is measured are set. Controlled sinusoidal highly noisy signal and geophysical background recording data are digitized. Amplitude of the signal at a given frequency and the uncertainty of its measurements are calculated by the method of least squares at a given frequency; by least squares method at frequency with maximum amplitude in frequency range determined by input signal frequency setting error; by amplitude estimation method by current voltage value; method involves estimating amplitude from peak signal values. Proceeding from signal / noise ratio, oscillations of reference frequency and zero signal level, optimal method of measuring amplitude of harmonics signals, having least uncertainty is selected.

EFFECT: increase in the measurement accuracy.
