FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling content of a solid component in a feed stream fed into a reactor in a polymer production system (embodiments), where one of the embodiments includes: (a) measuring the turbidity of the feed stream fed into the reactor, wherein the feed stream fed into the reactor contains a solid component of the polymerisation catalyst system; and (b) converting the turbidity of the feed stream fed into the reactor into the solid component concentration in the feed stream fed into the reactor; wherein the turbidity conversion of the feed stream entering the reactor, concentration of the solid component in the feed stream fed into the reactor includes use of a calibration curve with known values of concentration of the solid component depending on the measured turbidity.
EFFECT: technical result is the development of a method of improving the production of polyethylene by monitoring the amount of catalyst in the reactor.
