FIELD: radio engineering and communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to formation of short-pulse ultra-wideband signals and can be used in designing radio communication, radiolocation and radio navigation systems using complex signals to provide high noise immunity and energy security of operation. Technical result is achieved by generation of ultra-wideband (UWB) signals carrying information symbols, based on combined use of pseudorandom number sequences and binary pseudorandom sequences such that time pauses between UWB signal pulses are proportional to pseudo-random numbers from the corresponding numerical sequence with due allowance for the fact that positions of non-zero pulses of UWB signals are determined by positions of corresponding units in the binary pseudorandom sequence. Pseudorandom number sequences are rows or columns of matrices generated by one of the known methods.
EFFECT: increasing ensemble of quasi-orthogonal UWB signals, as well as processing gain by pseudorandom "rarefaction" of pulses in them due to use of double modulation.
