FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to therapy and endocrinology, and concerns correction of endothelial dysfunction in patients with impaired glucose tolerance in metabolic syndrome. That is ensured by administering metformin with low-carbo hypocaloric diet. Metformin is administered for first 5 days in an initial dose of 500 mg/day with subsequent increase every 5 days/500 mg/day to a maximum dose of 2000 mg/day. That is combined with daily physical activity and one day of limited intake of food once a week. Treatment is performed for 3 months.
EFFECT: such empirically selected complex of drug-induced and drug-free therapy provides effective correction of endothelial dysfunction in the given group of patients.
