FIELD: wireless network.

SUBSTANCE: station has traffic queues and associated rollback counters which reduce the time count with continuous detection of the medium as free during a period greater than the corresponding AIFS duration. To compensate for the additional capabilities provided by the OFDMA RU, the queue switches to the MU mode after transmitting its data to the RU provided by the AP. In order to restore the dynamics of recoil counters frozen in MU mode in known methods, embodiments provide the following each time one of the queue rollback counters expires: determining the current mode of the elapsed traffic queue; in case of inherited mode, station receives access to channel for data transmission from queue; and in the case of MU mode, the new rollback value is output to reset the expired down counter without transmitting data from the queue.
