FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of oxidizing one or more thiol compounds from an alkali stream and separating an oil by-product and excess air from the stream of oxidized alkali in one vessel, comprising: A) feeding a mixed stream containing an alkali stream into a vessel having an oxidation section, a separation wall connected to the lower portion of the vessel, a separation section and an elongated neck comprising an exhaust gas section, wherein all sections comprise one or more packing elements, and the last two sections also comprise a washing element which includes a distribution device and a mesh; B) feeding the stream of oxidized alkali through the partition wall into a separation section comprising a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber comprising a coated mesh, and C) supply of off-gas flow, also known as spent air, through the neck, where off-gas is washed with flushing oil, and then is sent to reservoir with air vent.
EFFECT: invention also relates to a device for implementing the disclosed method.
