FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for oxidising methane, containing one or more noble metals on a zirconium dioxide support, wherein zirconium dioxide contains tetragonal zirconium dioxide and monoclinic zirconium dioxide. Weight ratio of tetragonal zirconium dioxide to monoclinic zirconium dioxide ranges from 1:1 to 31:1. Invention additionally discloses a method of producing a catalyst for oxidising methane, thereby obtaining a catalyst for oxidising methane, a method of oxidising methane and a method of treating an exhaust gas stream by contacting a catalyst for oxidising methane.
EFFECT: technical result is high activity of methane oxidation and high conversion of NO.
