SUBSTANCE: invention describes a device for applying metal particles or particles having the shape and reflectivity of a metal on a layer moving relative to the surface of the layer, wherein the particles are attached to the surface more strongly than to each other. Device has at least one spray head 1401 for direct or indirect application on surface 12 of fluid medium flow with particles suspended therein, casing 1403 surrounding spraying head(s) and forming inner chamber 1406 enclosing inside flow of fluid medium, wherein the housing has edge 1404 adjacent to the surface and configured to prevent leakage of particles through the sealing gap formed between the housing edge and the coated surface, and rarefaction source connected to the casing to extract sputtered fluid medium and particles suspended therefrom from the chamber.

EFFECT: during operation, the vacuum source extracts practically all particles which do not have direct contact with the surface so that at the output of the device only a layer with thickness of only one particle fixed to the surface is left.
