SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to medicine. Disclosed is application of histone H2A isoform related to extracellular nucleosome as biomarker in biological fluid sample for cancer diagnostics. Disclosed are methods of detecting the presence in a biological fluid sample of a histone isoform H2A associated with an extracellular nucleosome for the diagnosis of cancer. Disclosed is a method of detecting cancer, a method for identifying an animal subject or individual with respect to the probability of responding to cancer treatment and a method of monitoring cancer treatment.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides specific detection of circulating nucleosomes.
