FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed group of inventions relates to means for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Said conversion system includes: electric power generator, which in its turn contains the first element and the second element, wherein at least one of them is configured to contain an electric charge, wherein the first and second elements are further configured rotating relative to each other in order to thereby generate electric power, when at least one of first element and second element contains electric charge; and a mechanism configured to control the distance between the first member and the second member such that the distance is controlled depending on the relative rotation speed between the first member and the second member. System described above implements the corresponding method of converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.
EFFECT: proposed inventions provide for possibility of periodical operation of generator in contact mode for filling of charge on plates, and other time in non-contact mode for generation of electric energy by means of electrostatic induction.
