FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of using detachable reflectometric detection means (DM) and can be used in cases of signal coverage of a section of terrain, detachable detection means, which determines distance to point of breakage of microwire (MW) based on reflectometric method. Method provides location of microwire to area when it is deployed using GPS-receiver, operating in differential correction mode; calculating a correction coefficient to the readings of the security means, which is equal to the ratio of the estimated length of the microwire set based on the terrain-typing data to the length indicated by the guard; said factor is recalculated and recalculated during generation of alarm signal and determination of distance to breakage point.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of determining point of breakage of microwire.
