FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to security monitoring methods of a terrain site by means of a discontinuous reflectometric detection means (DM) and can be used in cases of signaling cover of a site of terrain with discontinuous DM, determining the distance to the point of microwire breakage (MW). Method consists in ensuring the transmission of alarms (TA) from the DM to the system for collecting and processing information (SCPI) in the event of a break by the intruder MW; determining the waiting time for a second TA to arrive, depending on the distance between the outer lines and the minimum possible speed of the violator; transfer, together with two consecutive MWs from the DM to the SCPI, of the lengths of the parts of the MW that are connected to the DM; use of the algorithm for determining the movement direction (MD) of the offender.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the ability to determine the direction of motion of the detected intruder using only one DM.
