FIELD: manufacturing technology; optics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a composition used in a method of producing photopolymerisation of intraocular lenses of white and yellow color with the ability to block UV radiation, as well as a method for photopolymerisation of intraocular lenses of white and yellow color with the ability to block UV radiation. Said composition contains 20–80 wt % of oligomer based on urethane acrylate and/or urethane methacrylate as binder, 5–40 wt % of an acrylate and/or methacrylate-based monomer as an active diluent, 1–5 wt % of an acrylate and/or methacrylate-based UV blocker for light absorption and 0.1–5 wt % of a photoinitiator for initiating the reaction. Composition contains reactive functional groups capable of reacting in 300–475 nm range of UV radiation. Method of making lenses involves making said composition, placing the composition in a matrix, curing the composition by photopolymerisation, extracting the cured composition from the matrix, extracting isopropyl alcohol and sterilizing.
EFFECT: obtained intraocular lenses are flexible, biocompatible intraocular lenses of white and yellow color with high refraction index and long service life.
