FIELD: chemical and physical processes.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to investigation of adhesion and cohesion resistance of metal coatings. Substance of the method consists in that the part with coatings is fixed directly on the working surface of the ultrasonic radiator and placed in a working chamber with a liquid suspension with an abrasive. During excitation of high-frequency oscillations in the cavitation processes occur, which cause erosion of the analyzed surface and layer-by-layer removal of the coating layer until its complete removal. Processing time is taken as a relative parameter of adhesion and cohesion resistance of analyzed coating.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of evaluation of hydroabrasive wear resistance of coatings, imitation of real operating conditions, diagnostics of wear resistance parameters for correction and selection of optimal parameters of coating application, as well as determination of adhesion and cohesion strength of coatings separately.
