FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering. Fuel assembly of nuclear reactor with cross-section in form of regular hexagon contains upper and lower shanks, guide channels, fuel elements located in nodes of triangular grid, and grid consisting of cells which are not interconnected. Six non-adjacent faces of the cell are inclined. Between the inclined faces there are faces parallel to the axis of the fuel assembly, with which the cells adjoin each other. Cells are arranged in a grid in rows parallel to one of the larger diagonals of the regular hexagon. One pair of opposite inclined faces has an edge width on the side of the upper shank smaller than the width of the edge on the side of the lower shank. Axis of symmetry of the cell forms angle of 30 degrees with the above diagonal. Other inclined faces have width of edge on side of upper shank, larger than width of edge on side of lower shank. Cells of each row are oriented identically. Axes of symmetry of cells in adjacent rows form angle of 60 degrees.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide operation of reactor plant at increased operating mode within 107–110 % of rated power.
