FIELD: laser engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment and concerns a Faraday isolator. Isolator comprises a polariser arranged in series on the optical axis, a magnetooptical rotator placed in the field created by the magnetic system and an analyzer. Magneto-optical rotator is made of series-arranged magnetooptical element, providing rotation of polarization plane by 45 degrees in one direction, phase plate with travel difference λ/6, a magnetooptical element providing rotation of the polarization plane by 90 degrees in the opposite direction, and one more phase plate with travel difference λ/6. Magnetic system is arranged so that magnetic field directions are opposite in regions where magneto-optical elements are arranged.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing compensation of axially symmetric polarization distortions in Faraday insulator, increasing degree of insulation of device and its maximum allowable working power.
