FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical engineering for powerful laser beams. Magnetic system in Faraday cage for laser beams with a square cross section of intensity distribution is made with square aperture by filling its central areas, through which does not pass laser beam, cylindrical segments of permanent magnets. Said cylindrical segments with magnetisations oriented along axis of magnetic system, are alternated with cylindrical segments with magnetisations oriented across axis of magnetic system.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of value for thermally induced depolarisation, which increases maximum permissible Faraday isolator operating power while maintaining a given degree of insulation.
