FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to artificial drying of wood and can be used at woodworking enterprises as part of production lines at the stage of lumber dehydration. Method for centrifugal drying of lumber involves forming a pack of lumber on the outer surface of the body of the drum, balancing the drum with the lumber stack and rotating it at a rate which provides centrifugal dehydration of the lumber, prior to formation of a package of lumber on the outer surface of the body of the drum, lumber is sorted by size into several groups, then in each group, lumber is sorted by weight, for this purpose, separate lumber is installed on the scales, weight platform readings and total weight of lumber are determined, the lumber is directed to the appropriate sorting pocket so that in each sorting pocket the lumber was divided into two parts, one part contains lumber oriented to the one side by the heaviest end, and the other one—to the lighter one, note here that lumber pack formation on outer surface of drum body is performed by lumber from one pocket by means of alternating lumber from its different parts.
EFFECT: method allows simplifying the design of a centrifugal drying unit, increasing efficiency and quality of operations, as well as reducing power consumption.
