FIELD: reaction furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict residual life of coils of reaction furnaces. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the coil wall thickness is measured by the ultrasonic method, at that, at first, the pipe surface is scanned by the magnetic method, detecting the zones with the maximum intensity of the constant magnetic field, in which the wall thickness is measured using an ultrasonic method, wherein value of measured thickness is corrected, considering thickness of carburized layer and change of speed of passage in coil wall of coil of ultrasonic longitudinal waves, wherein the magnetic parameter is the resultant intensity of the constant magnetic field, and the ultrasonic parameter is the propagation velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic waves, and the remaining life is determined by a certain mathematical formula.
EFFECT: high accuracy of estimating residual life of coil of reaction furnaces.
