SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices for retaining a surgical incision during an operation. A surgical expander for a surgical intervention comprises a body and mirrors placed inside the body. Housing is made in the form of a ring with thread bushings evenly distributed on its surface for mirrors fixing elements. Mirrors are made in the form of blades-retractors with a ground surface. Housing ring represents two semi-rings connected to each other with possibility of angular displacement relative to each other with bolts with square head and wing-tip nuts. Each semi-ring consists of outer and inner shells interconnected by threaded bushes. On the ends of the inner shell of one half-ring there are dividing eyes, in which there is a rectangular recess for a bolt and dividing slots, and ends of the external shell of the other semi-ring are made in the form of guide lugs, on which there is a key entering the groove of the separating lug. In thread bushings there are blades-retractors, retainers, ball pins with handles. Handles are made in the form of a wrench, are installed on a ball pin and fixed with a pin. Blade-retractor is attached to ball pin by false retainer, their vertical position is carried out under action of gravity, and on ball pin there is a locking nut.

EFFECT: using the invention enables providing more effective surgical intervention ensured by enlarging the wound working space, reducing labor intensity and improving convenience of use.
