FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nano-sized powder of metal silicide. Method comprises loading into sealed crucible electrolyte consisting of alkali metal halide and metal salt, and consumable components of micron size in form of powders of metal and silicon, heating to operating temperatures of synthesis of metal silicide is performed above melting point of electrolyte to obtain ionic melt in atmosphere of argon or carbon dioxide. For transfer in ion melt of metal to silicon with formation of nano-sized powder of metal silicide provides anionic-cationic composition of ion melt with electrochemical potential of metal, more negative than potential of silicon by value >0.5 V. Solidified electrolyte with formed powder is extracted from crucible, is ground and subjected to hydrometallurgical treatment to produce nano-sized metal silicide powder.
EFFECT: providing electrochemical production of nano-sized powder of metal silicide.
