FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: dual element ultrasound transducer has a housing which emits a prism with a radiating piezoelectric cell, a receiving prism with a receiving piezoelectric cell mounted thereon and an electroacoustic screen installed between the prisms, including at least one insulating layer. Electro-acoustic screen also additionally comprises a reflecting screen installed in parallel to the insulating layer immediately after it in the direction of movement of ultrasonic waves (or between two insulating layers) and which is intended to return acoustic energy back to the insulating layer and, further, to the radiating prism. Reflecting screen is made of wear-resistant material, for example from dielectric (for example, ceramics or ferrites), or from metal, having hardness exceeding hardness of prism material and / or insulating layer, and satisfying the condition: (DE)RS>(DE)IL, where: (DE)RS – product specific gravity material reflecting screen and the longitudinal elastic wave speed in this material; (DE)IL is product of specific weight of material of insulating layer and speed of longitudinal elastic wave in this material.
EFFECT: increased service life and efficiency of converter operation.
