FIELD: defectoscopy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for nondestructive testing of various articles. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that thetransducer has a prism with an active surface, on which at least one piezoelectric element is fixed, wherein the active surface has a cylindrical shape, wherein its axis is located perpendicular to the plane of incidence of the ultrasonic wave, and each piezoelectric element fixed on it is made in the form of a flexible piezoelectric film, wherein the angular characteristics of the ultrasonic transducer are interconnected geometrically by a given system of equations.

EFFECT: possibility of extending the range of working angles, a beam pattern and a range of operating frequencies of the converter, as well as simplification of the used flaw detection, while maintaining the possibility of electronic control of the beam width and direction of its main maximum.
