FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy. Waste of oxidized zinc powder is processed by zinc melting at temperature of 440–470 °C to produce melt and its centrifugal filtration. Zinc chloride layer is filled on surface of zinc melt 0.5–1 cm, and charge is prepared by mixing zinc powder with ammonium chloride with consumption of 0.3–0.9 % of powder weight, which is mixed in portions into zinc melt by circulating zinc melt, at which filter is provided in the form of two cone-shaped plates connected by large bases with gap of 1–5 mm between them. Unreacted filtration residue is collected by compression of the plates to clearance of 0.1 mm, and liquid zinc is scooped out and poured into ingots. Method allows fusing zinc powder by 90.4 % and thereby reducing losses of zinc during processing of zinc powder wastes.
EFFECT: invention can be used for processing zinc waste in form of zinc after zinc coating.
