FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the refining of lead from impurities. Reagent-precipitator, which binds the impurities into the salt, insoluble in molten alkali, is mixed into the melt. Molten lead is dispersed in the alkaline melt layer with reagents. Intake of the alkaline melt is provided above the surface of lead from the formed slurry of the precipitate in the melt by compacting it through its settlement in the centrifugal field according to the specific gravity of the precipitate of the impurity salt from the alkaline melt. Settled alkali is returned to the total volume of the melt. Stirring of lead with a reagent-precipitant and settlement of precipitate from the alkaline melt are carried out at a temperature of 500–550 °C. Method is carried out in a centrifugal apparatus.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the consumption of alkali by 80–89 %.
