FIELD: metallurgy; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of refining zinc from iron. According to method initial hard zinc melt is heated to 700-740 °C and admixed with aluminium at ratio of 0.8-1.4 % of aluminium per 1 % of iron, then aluminium is added with excess to total consumption 1.9-3.9 % of hard zinc weight, after dissolving aluminium stirring is stopped, melt is cooled to 650-690 °C during 30-40 minutes for melt sludge and then at 650-690 °C separate iron-aluminium drosses by centrifugal filtration while immersing filter in aluminium foam layer on the surface of zinc melt , then mix melt in bath by immersing rotating filter at the bottom upon cooling to 470-440 °C and filter floating formed crystals of iron residues in solid excess aluminium from the surface of zinc melt.
EFFECT: higher purity of zinc refined from iron and aluminium.
