SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operational control of vehicles, and more specifically to assisting drivers when changing lanes on the carriageway. Method to facilitate change of lane on roadway from current lane comprises several stages. First, it is possible to move in other lanes more efficiently based on speed and acceleration of other vehicles on the carriageway. Vehicle real-time display on the windshield of the vehicle is represented by a roadway which represents the configuration of the carriageway, vehicle and other vehicles. After indicating driver to move to another lane, speed is calculated to support vehicle. For rebuilding into another lane, the vehicle is indicated on the real-time display on the windshield when appropriate.
