FIELD: foundry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the foundry. Central rod (500) for formation of spring opening (110) of railway car bogie frame comprises first (520) and second (540) side walls, top wall (555), bottom wall (550) and central post (530). Central post (530) is located between the first and the second side walls, from the upper to the lower walls. Outer surfaces of side, top and bottom walls set the spring opening. Inner surfaces of the walls form at least one opening. In the first side wall there is at least one hole (560) for reception of the first pin rod, and in the second - for the second pin rod used at formation of fastening holes of the first and the second posts of the side frame. Holes (560) are used for docking assemblies and for gripping the rod when it is installed in a mould.

EFFECT: formation of more than one hollow central volume (510) makes it possible to reduce the weight of the rod, to provide its increase of destructibility, which facilitates removal of the rod from the mould at reduction of formation of hot cracks in the moulded side frame.
