FIELD: radio engineering and communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) systems using high frequencies (HF). Method of operating an access node includes generating a configuration message which includes information indicating a set of reference signals of a first type of reference signals and a set of reference signals of a second type of reference signals used to identify a new beam, and information indicating random access channel resources allocated for transmission of preamble sequences, wherein each resource of the random access channel is associated with a reference signal of a first type of reference signals, sending, in one or more user devices (UE), a configuration, reception message from the UE, a preamble sequence in one of the random access channel resources and determining the UE in accordance with the preamble sequence and one of the random access channel resources.
EFFECT: technical result consists in maintaining communication beam reconstruction.
