FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a bent light filter which, under the action of incident light, changes its state from light-transmitting to darkening. Automatic darkening filter is made by a method comprising forming a liquid crystal cell, wherein the liquid crystal cell formation comprises steps of forming a first transparent electroconductive layer of electrodes on the first optically transparent flexible glass layer; bending said first optically transparent flexible glass layer so that the first optically transparent flexible glass layer becomes curved; placing a mixture of liquid crystals on said first transparent electroconductive layer of electrodes of said curved first optically transparent flexible glass layer; forming a second transparent electrically conductive layer of electrodes on the second optically transparent flexible glass layer; and attaching the second optically transparent flexible glass layer to the bent first optically transparent flexible glass layer so that the second optically transparent flexible glass layer is bent, and a first transparent electrically conductive layer of electrodes, a second transparent electrically conductive layer of electrodes and a mixture of liquid crystals are arranged between the first optically transparent flexible glass layer and the second optically transparent flexible glass layer.

EFFECT: invention provides reduced weight and wider field of vision for the user.
