FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrumentation and can be used in interference optical filters, devices for protection against blinding radiation, to ensure the safety of movement of vehicles. Adaptive polarization filter contains optically transparent systems sequentially installed using an optically transparent substance and sequences of liquid crystal films. Glass substrates with transparent electrodes deposited on them are introduced into it to control the properties of low molecular weight liquid crystals enclosed in a polymer matrix, polarization holographic gratings recorded in liquid crystal composites, a rotator of the polarization plane on the basis of nematic liquid crystals, sources of direct and alternating voltage, recorder of the intensity of the incoming light, control system of the elements of the electrodes and devices included in the optical connection of the filter together with a microprocessor-based computer.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure small losses of incident radiation, elimination of the scattering of the polarization components of the transmitted light with the possibility of their equal suppression, reduction of the thickness, simplification of the management of the elements of the device, ensuring work in a static mode with manual control and in a dynamic mode with automatic control.
