SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer obtained by radical polymerisation of a mixture of monomers containing: at least one anionic monomer (a), selected from among acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid monomers, and/or one of their salts, at least one non-ionic hydrophobic monomer (b), selected from C1-C8-alkyl methacrylates and mixtures thereof, and one or more crosslinking monomer(s) (c), including (x) at least one compound of formula (I), in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, n equals 1, R1 represents a linear or branched C1-C20-alkyl group. Also described is a method of producing a polymer by radical polymerisation, an aqueous composition containing a polymer.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining new rheological modifying agents, which have good viscosity and have good suspending properties and high transparency.
