FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: disc brake having brake clamp (1) is provided, which comprises brake disc (2) and braking straps (3) arranged on its two sides, each consisting of friction pad (4) and rear plate (5), and having clamp (7), which passes across above brake pads (3) and rests on brake pads in direction of disc brake axis (A). Circumferential outline of rear plate (5) of at least one of the brake pads is defined by upper edge (21), lower edge (22) and two lateral edges (23A, 23B) propagating between the upper and lower edges. Also circumferential contour of friction pad (4) is defined by upper edge (31), lower edge and two lateral edges extending between upper and lower edges. Main stroke of top edges (21, 31) of rear plate (5) and friction pad (4) where clamp (7) is installed over brake pad, interrupted by lowering (25, 35) of upper edge (21, 31) in direction of disc brake axis (A).
EFFECT: technical result is solution of structural tightness problem between structural elements of disc brake and vehicle wheel rotating around brake.
