FIELD: hydro acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics, can be used in solving problems of processing noise emission of an object in hydroacoustic systems and is intended for determining motion parameters of a detected object. Method is based on reception of a noise signal of an object with a hydroacoustic antenna and continuous processing of the received signal with determination of its spectral composition at consecutive moments of time. When implementing the method, the received signal is processed in the low-frequency range of noise emission. Analysis of the spectral composition of the signal is carried out with determination of the frequency of the maximum harmonic at each of the successive instants of time and the harmonic frequency is compared to each previous and current time. It is decided that object increased (decreased) speed of movement if harmonic frequency increased (decreased). It is decided that the object has maintained speed if the harmonic frequency has not changed.

EFFECT: automatic determination of the moment of movement change by the object and determination of the nature of this change.
