FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: area of application: the invention relates to the field of hydroacoustics, can be used in solving problems of processing the noise emission signal of an object in hydroacoustic systems, and is intended for determining the parameters of movement of a detected object. Substance: the method is based on continuous reception and processing in the low-frequency range of the noise signal of the object by a hydroacoustic antenna, determining the frequency of the maximum harmonic in the spectral composition thereof at consecutive times. In implementation of the method, an array of measurements of a fixed length is created and supplemented with the values of the maximum harmonic frequencies at each of the consecutive times using a sliding window therefor. When the array is completely filled, the value of the frequency change rate V is formed from the elements thereof, using the least-square method. It is decided that the object has increased (decreased) the speed of movement, if V>0 (V<0), it is decided that the object maintained the speed, if V=0.
EFFECT: reduction in the amount of false decisions on the presence of a change in the speed of movement of an object and determination of the numerical characteristic of this change.
