FIELD: radio systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive radio systems designed to monitor moving objects in radio wavelength range. To implement the method of determining coordinates of a moving object by a passive radio system, two mutually remote and space-oriented radio receivers with antenna arrays are used, which receive a radio signal reflected from a moving object, transmitted by a radio transmitter located separately from radio receivers. Results of processing the received signals on Doppler frequencies determine the angular coordinates of the object and the vectors of the direction vectors on the object. In contrast to active radar systems, the method enables, in passive mode of monitoring an object, to determine distances to an object and spatial coordinates thereof based on solving a system of equations for conjugate direction vectors on an object.
EFFECT: determination of range to object in passive mode of radio receivers operation and determination of its spatial coordinates.
