FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric engineering, in particular, to traction power supply systems of railway transport. Measuring and computing unit is introduced, which measures current and voltage and calculates active and reactive input power of traction winding, and design unit, which calculates voltage at CU. At that, adjustment of the compensation unit power is carried out by means of OLTC of the supplying substation transformer. If voltage Ucu>29 kV, OLTC reduces voltage on transformer so that Ucu=28–29 kV, and if Ucu=27–28 kV, then OLTC stabilizes voltage on transformer at level 25–26 kV, and if voltage on CU buses is set to 27 kV and lower, then voltage on transformer Utr stabilized at level of 27–28 kV.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of power supply due to normalization of voltage in traction network at any traction load.
