FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new high-temperature seal for a cylindrical core and a method for its (seal) assembly in a core holder in order to investigate thermal action on a cylindrical core by steam gravity drainage. Compaction of cylindrical core is characterized by that sealing material made of thermally expanded graphite, ground to fraction of not more than 3 mm, is placed and sealed in the gap between the inner cylindrical surface of the core holder and the sealed core outer surface with the possibility of tight filling of the said gap so that it can be used at thermal impact on the core by steam gravitational drainage at high pressures of up to 20 MPa and temperatures of up to 400 °C.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the possibility of conducting studies with a core at high pressures and temperatures in laboratory conditions.
