FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: one or more nodes transmit CSI-RS symbols in a set of N CSI-RS elements, wherein each CSI-RS element in the set corresponds to at least one resource element in a frequency-time grid of resource elements. Nodes select, from the N CSI-RS elements, the first set of CSI-RS elements to be measured by the first wireless device, the first set comprising one or more of the N CSI-RS elements. Nodes also transmit to the first wireless device a message containing the first K-bit indicator identifying the first set of CSI-RS elements, wherein K<N. Nodes then receive the measurement report. First K-bit indicator is one of predetermined set of K-bit indicators, wherein each member of a predetermined set of K-bit indicators uniquely corresponds to a CSI-RS element or a group of CSI-RS elements from a number of N CSI-RS in accordance with a predetermined mapping.
EFFECT: provision of flexibility during signaling, at that reducing service load from signaling.
