FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing alkoxylated polyphenols, specifically alkoxylated lignins. Method of producing alkoxylated polyphenol involves reacting polyphenol with an alkoxylating additive in the presence of a catalyst and alkoxylated polyphenol as a solvent, wherein the weight ratio of polyphenol/alkoxylated polyphenol as solvent is less than 2, preferably less than or equal to 1.5, more preferably less than or equal to 1, still more preferably less than or equal to 0.5, followed by removal of the residual alkoxylating additive.
EFFECT: alkoxylated polyphenol obtained using the method according to the invention can be used as a solvent in the method of producing alkoxylated polyphenols, as well as for production of polyurethanes, polyesters, non-ionic or cationic surfactants, precursors of carbon fiber of biological origin.
