FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, and can be used for studying breathing mechanics. Simultaneously registered are signals of electromyography from respiratory muscles and speed characteristics of inhaled/exhaled air at various respiratory maneuvers. Registered signals are digitised by ADC and their further processing is carried out in digital form by means of computer. Volumetric rate of air movement is used to calculate characteristics of inhaled/exhaled air acceleration, calculation of electromyography is carried out separately for each phase of respiratory cycle, and work of respiratory muscles during inhalation and exhalation is considered separately.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to study respiratory muscles as central executing link of respiratory system and determine contribution of each respiratory muscle into general work of respiratory system.
