SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for prediction of restoration of function of perforating veins at operative treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities. Performing preoperative ultrasonic duplex scanning of vessels of lower extremities. It is predicted absence of restoration of function of perforating vein without ligation at its diameter at the level of fascia and/or subfascial area to level of inflow into main veins of shin 3.5 mm and more or if there is segmental reflux along the main vein of shin 5–7 cm above the inconsistent perforating vein, or in the presence of reflux on the sural veins for the perforating veins of the distal portion of the medial surface of the shin.

EFFECT: method enables determining the possibility of restoring function of perforating veins in the patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities at the preoperative stage by ultrasonic criteria for recovering the function of the perforating veins.
