METHOD FOR DETERMINING INDICATIONS FOR LIGATION OF INCOMPETENT PERFORATING VEINS IN PATIENTS WITH VARICOSE VEINS OF THE LOWER EXTREMITIES Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2760957 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to vascular surgery, and can be used to determine the indications for ligation of incompetent perforating veins in varicose veins of the lower extremities (VVLE), class of clinical manifestations C4 (according to CEAP classification). To do this, at the preoperative stage in patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities, using ultrasonic duplex angioscanning, the diameter of the perforating veins is measured, the maximum and average velocity of retrograde blood flow is examined. When the diameter of the perforating veins is 4.0 mm, the maximum speed of retrograde blood flow through them is 61 cm/s, and the average speed of retrograde blood flow is 45 cm/s, indications for ligation of these vessels are set.

EFFECT: method provides an adequate assessment and prediction in clinical practice of the dynamics of trophic changes in patients with VVLE in the postoperative period, which necessitates the development of an individual plan of surgical treatment for such patients, namely, the need for targeted ligation of perforating veins.
