FIELD: medicine, surgery, vascular diseases.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine indications for sclerotherapy of incompetent perforating veins in varicose veins of the lower extremities, class of clinical manifestations C4-C6. At the preoperative stage, ultrasound duplex scanning of the vessels of the lower extremities is performed. The index of peripheral blood flow resistance in the perforating arteries is measured. With a peripheral resistance index for perforating arteries of 0.79 or lower and the presence of a main type of blood flow, sclerotherapy of perforating veins is not indicated.
EFFECT: invention allows to evaluate and predict the results of sclerotherapy in this category of patients, which, in turn, allows to choose an individual surgical treatment plan.
