FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preventing slippage of wheels. Method of protection against electric rolling stock with asynchronous traction engines consists in the following. When one or several wheel pairs are struck, current active electric powers of stator windings of asynchronous traction motors are measured. Absolute difference of measured values of active electric powers is calculated. Excess sliding of wheel pairs is determined by comparing absolute difference of active electric powers with threshold power. Correcting signal on reduction of angular frequency of rotation of wheel pair moving with excessive sliding, or angular frequencies of rotation of wheel pairs moving with excess sliding is issued.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of traction properties of rolling stock.
