SUBSTANCE: method for preventing wheel slip. The method of protection against skidding of electrically propelled vehicles with asynchronous traction motors consists in measuring current active electrical power of stator windings of asynchronous traction motors, current ambient temperature of traction section and current horizontal position of the traction section. The measured values ​​of ambient temperature of traction section and horizontal position of traction section are fed to inputs of a pre-trained feedforward artificial neural network. Algorithms of a pre-trained artificial neural network determine the value of depth of the boxing process. The absolute difference between the measured values ​​of active electrical powers is calculated. The threshold power is determined by the measured current values ​​of active electrical powers of stator windings of asynchronous traction motors and the value of the depth of the skidding process. The absolute difference in active electrical power is compared with the threshold power and a corrective signal is issued about a decrease in the angular rotation frequency of the wheelset moving with excessive slip.

EFFECT: increasing traction properties of electric rolling stock.
