FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biochemistry, in particular to a glyphosate-resistant cell of a plant, a plant, part of a plant, as well as plant seeds which contain 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS). What is also presented is a tissue culture consisting of the above cells. Invention also relates to a method for controlling weeds on a cultivated area under cultivation, containing glyphosate-resistant plants, providing for either sowing of the above plant seed or planting of said plant.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to effectively control weeds without significant negative effect on plant resistant to glyphosate.
