FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of processing metals by a laser beam. Laser processing is performed by scanning laser beam in vacuum atmosphere. Secondary emission signal is recorded from laser beam exposure. This signal is processed by coherent accumulation method and specific power of laser beam is set so that phase shift between processed secondary emission signal and signal providing scanning of laser beam is minimum.
EFFECT: high quality of laser processing, particularly quality of the formed article in laser additive technologies and quality of welded joints obtained during laser welding with deep penetration.
