FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of plastic properties of structural materials and can be used to determine relative narrowing after rupture. Essence: test material is loaded by means of spherical indenter with load, which is in range corresponding to measurement of hardness, measuring dimensions of print and determining relative contraction after rupture, wherein the plastic hardness ND of the test material is measured, the plasticity module M of the test material is determined, followed by determining the relative narrowing after rupture taking into account the true rupture resistance Sk tested material.
EFFECT: possibility of improving accuracy and rapid determination of relative narrowing after fracture without destruction.
