According to the method: the terminal device detects several transmitting beams among the transmitting beams of the network device and detects a receiving beam which is matched with each transmitting beam from several transmitting beams in at least two groups of receiving beams of the terminal device; and the terminal device transmits a notification message to the network device, wherein the notification message is used to indicate a plurality of transmitting beams and a receiving beam matched with each transmitting beam, and comprises information intended for use by a network device for selecting a group of receiving beams, to which belongs a receiving beam matched with each transmitting beam, and selecting a receiving beam matched with a transmitting beam in a group of receiving beams.
EFFECT: technical result is to enable network device to learn information of receiving beam matched with transmitting beam of downlink, and then to select suitable transmitting beam.
